Thisproject consisted of the development of a new Palliative Care Centre measuring circa 3,236m² gross floor area providing Palliative Day Centre services, Shared Therapies and a 14 Bed In-Patient Specialist Unit, Home Care & Administration offices, Café / Restaurant, Retail Unit, Reflection Room and Family Visitor’s suite in a primarily single storey building with part 2 storey in height sections. The building facilities included Separate Plant, Waste and Storage buildings. There was also installation of an architecturally designed landscaped Therapy Garden and Courtyards, 70 number car parking spaces, bicycle spaces, signage, hard and soft landscaping on an overall site area of 4.32 acres. The Building structure was constructed of a concrete raft foundation over filled ground to specific engineering specifications. It is a primarily single storey building with Blockwork Cavity Walls / Steel Structure and Part Timber Truss / Part Timber Cut Roof over the structure. There is a 2-storey section of the building which has a precast Hollowcore floor and structural screed. The external finishes involve a nap plaster finish mixed with stone cladding in various locations. The Roof Finishes are a Standing Seam Bauder Membrane roof finish with preformed metal trims. A mix of Brise Solais and accoya Wood Cladding was also utilised externally. The external windows and doors are Internorm Triple Glazed part Aluminium/Timber with integrated Blinds. There was extensive Mechanical & Electrical packages as part of this project.
