Thisprojectconsisted of the upgrade of Wards A and B on the First and Second Floors of Mayo University Hospital and the replacement of windows on the First, Second and Third Floor also. All works took place in the 1990’s building of the Mayo University Hospital and wards remained partially live while works were being carried out. The upgrade of Wards A & B included: Replacement of showers, wash basins and toilets in the en-suite bathrooms in A Ward and B Ward including the upgrade of wall and floor finishes to comply with current infection control standards. The works also required re-plumbing of all existing appliances within Wards A & B, new ventilation services, new electrical services and replacement of existing clinical sinks and IPS Panels. Works also included installation of Passive Fire Protection on all new services installations and upgrading of all existing services in the works areas. The existing windows were replaced with new in Wards A and B and also new windows were installed on the Third Floor of the hospital (Paediatric Ward) while the area remained live at all times. All works were carried out to ensure hospital remained operational at all times and Covid-19 operating procedures were strictly followed on site at all times.
