This project consisted of the construction and fit out of a new steel portal frame, waste transfer facility comprising a sorting area, office block containing multiple office units, customer area and all ancillary facilities. The Waste Sorting Area involved a reinforced concrete slab with specialist floor finishes to accommodate heavy duty traffic with a large scale reinforced concrete push wall and a recessed concrete compactor pit in the floor slab. The installation also involved multiple fire rated roller shutter installations. The building was predominantly a steel frame construction with in-situ concrete floors, blockwork walls and kingspan composite panel wall cladding and roof sheeting. The project also involved the installation of a specialist part modular / part in-situ concrete weighbridge connected to the internal offices for weighing vehicles entering & leaving the facility. The siteworks involved tying in with surrounding infrastructure and re-routing parts of the existing services network. The new underground services included extensive foul, storm and electrical ducting,stormwater attenuation system and a new stormwater pumping station on site.
